Cover Reveal: Seconds Before Sunrise

You may remember that earlier this year, I interviewed American author, Shannon Thompson about her paranormal fantasy Minutes Before Sunset. During which, Shannon revealed that some of the themes that were to run through the entire trilogy was light vs dark, and also choice and destiny. It has proven to be a successful first instalment currently boasting 47 5 star reviews on its Goodreads page. Well, I was very honored to be a part in Shannon’s cover reveal of the second instalment, Seconds Before Sunrise, which will be released by AEC Stellar Publishing.

And here it is!

Seconds Before SunriseI think the first thing that hits you when first seeing the cover is how vivid the green is. Shannon has revealed that this was done on purpose to reflect the theme of humanity in the book. It is an extremely bold design, if I say so myself.

Have you noticed the colouring of his eyes too? I wonder if the same paranormal elements of the first book will run even deeper in this sequel? If you remember, Shannon rather creatively flipped the traits of light and shade, with Shades representing the good side, and the light representing evil.

It is scheduled for release on March 22nd 2014, which is plenty of time to get familiar with the series (see links below). You can add it to your goodreads shelf here.

Here is the Seconds Before Sunrise synopsis:

Two nightmares. One memory.

“Chaos within destiny. It was the definition of our love.”

Eric has weeks before his final battle when he’s in an accident. Forced to face his human side, he knows he can’t survive if he fights alone. But he doesn’t want to surrender, even if he becomes the sacrifice for war.

Jessica’s memory isn’t the only thing she’s lost. Her desire to find her parents is gone and so is her confidence. But when fate leaves nightmares behind, she decides to find the boy she sees in them, even if it risks her sanity

As well as revealing the cover, Shannon has rather inventively created a scavenger hunt for fans of the series to find out some exclusive facts behind the book, and indeed the series as a whole. I am revealing fact #30.
Fact #30 Eric’s shade form is based on the boy who appeared in the author’s dreams. Eric’s human form—as well as all other characters—isn’t based on anyone in particular.
If you haven’t read the first book in the Timely Death series yet, then what are you waiting for? Here is the synopsis for Minutes Before Sunset.
Minutes Before Sunset
Two destinies. One death.
“Her kiss could kill us, and my consent signed our death certificates…”
Eric has less than a year left before his fated battle when he meets her. She’s a shade like him, but separated from the Dark – and with more power than she should have. And he can’t stay away.Jessica is new to town and desperate to figure out who, or what, her birth parents were. But she can’t find them without overcoming Eric, and she won’t let him stop her.

Minutes Before Sunset happens through the minds of two young adults as they struggle to survive their paranormal realities and find balance in their human lives.
